About Our Ministry

Six months after Eric Avelar came to know Christ he found out about a walk being
hosted by Tyrone Nealy. Zealous about his love for Jesus he decided to participate in
this walk and carry the cross on the streets of Pomona. The walkers ended their walk at
the church. There they preached, gave food to the hungry and had games for the
children. This really inspired Eric and he put another walk together with the help of Mr.
Nealy and many others for San Bernardino. His first walk had about 50 participants but
now just four years later as many as 700 people have come to be part of this important
event. Whole churches take turns walking miles, praising God, holding signs, sharing
their faith along the way and boldly professing their love for God in the streets. More
importantly, many have come to knowledge of Jesus Christ.
We want to thank the many people who have participated in the walks over the past few
years. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, participate as a church or volunteer
at an event please visit our [contact page]... Below are some articles on the impact we
are making in our communities.
[Walk for Jesus brings music and prayer to SB] SAN
BERNARDINO - They brought music, prayer and a large
cross to the streets of Pomona in mid-April, and now they're
coming back to San Bernardino to do it again for a second
time around. Only this time, it's expected to be larger.

[A Walk That Talks For Jesus]- POMONA - Craig Chisolm,
one of the walk's organizers, said he hoped the event will
foster relationships between communities, faith
organizations and the Police Department. "We need
everybody to come together," he said. "It's the only way to
make a change."

[Walk For Jesus Gets New Direction] - POMONA - The Walk
for Jesus has taken place in the city for the past several
years, but this Saturday there will be something different
about it. The walk will go a step beyond encouraging people
to open their hearts to Jesus and will ask participants to
also become involved in addressing crime and violence in
Pomona, said Craig Chisolm, one of the organizers of the
event.
[Praying For A City Deliverance]
SAN BERNARDINO - Walking through some of the most
troubled parts of a troubled city, 100-plus people on
Saturday stood strong as a testament to the power of
change, a message they hoped to spread like gospel.
The "Walk for Jesus" was both a calling for believers and a
shout-out to those in need, whether they are saddled with
drug problems or nettled in abusive relationships. The
streets of San Bernardino, participants said, are among the
neediest, having seen a decade-high 58 homicides last year.
